TRACE-RICE project showcased a Symposium for Food Safety
The TRACE-RICE project was showcased at the second edition of the INIAV Symposium for Food Safety (event details), held on November 27, 2024, in Vila do Conde, under the theme Sustainable and Safe Food Systems.
The project coordinator delivered an oral presentation titled "Post-Harvest Biological Control Strategies for Preventing Rice Quality" highlighting innovative approaches to preserving rice quality post-harvest.
In addition, three posters were presented on complementary topics:
- Enhancing Transparency and Sustainability in the Rice Value Chain through Digital Traceability and Consumer Engagement
- Assessing UV-C Light Treatment as a Method to Control Hidden Infestations of Weevil (Sitophilus spp.) in Stored Rice
- Assessing the efficacy of home cooking in minimizing 121 pesticides residues across different rice varieties
These contributions underscored the project’s commitment to advancing safe, sustainable, and innovative practices within the rice value chain.
