Within the scope of WP4 TraceRice project, on 14th December 2021, a technical visit was carried out to Ernesto Morgado's facilities in Alqueidão – Figueira da Foz. The general WP4 TraceRice objectives were presented. The preliminary approach of the blockchain technology implementation, in the context of rice industrial processing, carried out in the Ernesto Morgado facilities were discussed. To incorporate the WP4 objectives in a work context, it will be expected a technical information gathering to computerise blockchain technology, from the production phase to the industrial processing of rice in a real context, throughout its life cycle. Therefore, it was an excellent opportunity to share technical knowledge between stakeholders related to production and processing and to take useful information for the traceability and authenticity of rice along their value chain.
